Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus Review: design and display
The design of the Galaxy S20 Plus is superb with most of Samsung's smartphones. The width of the phone is small but the length is good. In such a situation, it is not heavy to take the phone in hand. The back panel of the phone is curved glass. Aluminum is at the grocery. The design is glossy and this phone is 7.8 mm. The charging port and speaker grill are on the bottom, the power and volume buttons are on the right, and the SIM card tray is placed on the top. The support of virtual assistant Bixby has also been found in the power button. The design of the camera is in rectangular shape like many phones of the recently launched company. The phone weighs 186 grams. The bezel on the display is very small.
This phone can also be called a bezelless phone. The Galaxy S20 Plus has a 6.7-inch QHD + Dynamic Amoled display that also supports HDR10 Plus and has a refresh rate of 120Hz. You can also set the resolution of the display according to your own. The default setting of the display will be Full HD Plus at 120Hz. Actual colors are found in the display. In such a situation, the fun from photography to video streaming and playing games doubles. A punchhole camera is found in the center center of the display.
The front camera does not bother watching videos or playing games. This phone will be available in Cosmic Gray, Cloud Blue, Cosmic Black Color Variants. The phone has Gorilla Glass 6 protection. Also, IP68 has been rated for Water and Dustproof. In terms of design, the Galaxy S20 series wins over the company's premium smartphone series. Overall, Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus gets 4.5 out of 5 in terms of design and finishing.
Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus review: processor and operating system
This Samsung phone has Samsung's Inhouse Exynos 990 processor, which is designed on a 7 nanometer process. This processor also supports 5G, although 4G variants have been introduced in India. For graphics, Mali-G77 GPU will be available in it. This processor from Samsung is being compared to Qualcomm's Snapdragon 855 processor. The phone offers Android 10 based Samsung OneUI 2.1 which is being given in all new Samsung phones. The company recently released an update claiming better camera and phone performance
Samsung has used LPDDR5 memory in this phone. In this case, data transfer will be faster. Samsung has provided an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor in this phone, which never failed during the review. For audio, it has an AKG speaker and support for high-resolution audio with wireheadphones. The phone also has support for wireless power share, NFC and Samsung Pay. The phone also has the support of Samsung Decks, which you can use to connect the phone to the laptop.
Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus review: performance and battery life
In terms of performance, the Galaxy S10 Plus will outperform the Galaxy Note 10. Enjoyed the display with 120Hz refresh rate. Especially the experience of webpage scrolling and high-resolution video viewing was fantastic. There was no problem in switching the app and the phone does not lag even when opening many pages in the browser simultaneously. The Exynos 990 is good in terms of performance, although the phone is slightly warmer when benchmark testing and playing heavy games for more than 30 minutes, but there is nothing to worry about. Be it gaming or video streaming audio levels are great. Base is also good. The fingerprint sensor is slightly slow but works. Face Unlock troubles in the dark. The phone has a 4500mAh battery which gives a full day of backup. It takes an hour to be fully charged. The phone also has a wireless power share.
Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus review: camera
Samsung has given 30x hybrid zoom with the camera of this phone, which the company is also promoting on a large scale. You will get this zoom with a 12 megapixel primary lens that also has dual pixel autofocus. Artificial intelligence is also supported with zoom lens which helps in better photography. Optical image stabilization is also available with the camera, which was a great experience during the review. We managed to click good photos even after shake.
A 64-megapixel lens is also available with the phone but stabilization is not available with it, although 6X zoom is definitely available. One lens is of wide angle and one lens is depth vision. The interface of the camera has also changed, as for live focus mode you have to click on the More option and go to the menu.A special feature with the camera is single take, which is a kind of burst mode. The speed of the camera is slightly lower.
In this mode, multiple photos, gifs and videos are recorded simultaneously. A single take records a 10-second video that captures each moment. With the camera, you are getting 8K support, ie you will be able to record 8K videos as well. The phone has recently received an update that claimed changes in the camera, but we did not see any significant change in the camera after the update. You will not get macro mode in Galaxy S20 Plus. Talking about the performance of the camera, you can do excellent photography in daylight or adequate light. Photography is done with details in the light of day.
The colors in the photo are real. During the review, we managed to get good photography with the Galaxy S20 Plus. The zoom label works well and the night mode is also fine. One problem with night mode is that the camera decides the time when the photo is clicked. Sometimes it is 4 seconds and sometimes 30 seconds. In such a situation, you have to hold the camera. There is no complaint about the selfie.
One thing I liked about the camera of Galaxy S20 Plus is that noises are very rare even in photos that are clicked under low light, which is a plus point. Glossup photos are also good and the camera identifies the subject well. It also has a live focus video mode of superb videography. Overall, the Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus is a great and all rounder flagship premium device.
